ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR – YOUNGSTOWN, OH

The Accounting Supervisor will report to the Accounting Director with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Prepare and record assets, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information and completing account reconciliations
  • Manage expense reports to ensure proper coding and timely payments
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and SOX standards and processes
  • Assist in budget preparation, to include preparing reports to analyze actual results versus budget
  • Assist in audits (internal, external, client) as appropriate
  • Oversee and manage insurance claims payment processes
    • Trouble-shoot system issues
    • Ensure banking transactions/positive pay files are submitted timely and accurately
    • Monitor and verify monthly client escrow accounts are reconciled timely and accurately
    • Communicate with the client and other service departments as necessary to provide banking information to the client
  • Supervise Accounting Clerks
  • Collaborate with other teammates to solve any accounting-related issues
  • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to improve operational efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related area of study with 3-5 years previous Accounting experience, including supervisory experience
    • Driven, highly organized, able to meet tight deadlines, strong analytical skills, detail-oriented strong judgment capability, with excellent communication skills
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes and quickly accommodate shifting priorities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
